What’s The Hardest Part of Getting Fit?

Generally speaking, there are 3 things that are THE most challenging and where most will fail.

  1. Getting Started
  2. Having a Plan
  3. Consistency

Getting Started
Probably the most difficult of all 3. Getting something moving from a dead stop takes a ton of energy and strength. The couch feels like it is velcro and you are stuck to it. Work gets in the way, friends pull you in different directions. It’s happy hour tonight, You're tired, hungry, sad, unsure, confused, comfortable.
Step 1: Pull out a notepad, write down what you want to accomplish and why this is important. Then begin to pretend you’ve achieved            your goals, visualize what that looks like and how you will feel. Write it all down.

Having a Plan
Keep it simple. Start with small things, create a win for yourself as soon as you can. Make a list of 5 things you can do to improve your life and move you towards your goals. That could be something as simple as drinking 8 glasses of water per day for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks add the next thing on your list. I.E. that could be Eat breakfast every day, do that for 2 weeks, along with the 8 glasses of water each day. So On….

Consistency
Stick with the 85% rule. If you can be on plan 85% of the time, you will make great strides towards your goals. You can’t expect perfection. The all or none principle always leads to none. Just because you ate a couple of pieces of pizza Friday night, doesn't mean youve ruined the week and should just keep eating bad through the weekend.
