My fitness journey began later in life - in high school and college, I played soccer and remained fit; but, it wasn't until 2010 did I decide a healthy life was my passion. I began to power lift and realized the benefits of setting goals and changing habits would enhance my love for fitness. Over this time, I grew stronger and felt more confident in my mental and physical capacities. In 2021, I sought a new challenge and took my shot at CrossFit, and I was "bit by the bug" quickly. I didn't have a gymnastics or cardio background; but, through the experienced and extremely caring coaches at Aero Health and Fitness, I met my goals and marked achievements in a short period of time.
Internal doubt was my nemesis! I would tell myself that "I cannot do that" because I'm too short or too weak... however, it was my fitness journey that changed my outlook. I owe it to my sister - she would push ever so slightly and ask quite often: "when are you going to leave the couch and change your habits?" One day, it clicked. I was more interested in meeting new people, exploring new places, and having more energy to take on new challenges. I wanted to physically feel and look better, feel stronger and improve my self-image. Over time, I conquered my nemesis and since then have not doubted myself.
Fitness is my passion and motivation which has led to a healthier lifestyle for me and my family. Given my passion for fitness, well-being and more recently CrossFit, I became a CrossFit Level 1 coach in April 2022. Coaching is a highly personalized and individualized well-being experience and I'm impassioned to "push" ever so slightly and educate the untrained. Each and every coaching experience is an opportunity to create an environment for an athlete to express their motivation and encourage them to find and unleash their "fire." It's in all of us!
